Niching Industrial Co. (3444-TW) announced its first-quarter financial results on Wednesday (May 4). Benefiting from the simultaneous growth in material sales and reinvestment, net income after tax reached NT$51 million, an annual increase of 90%, or NT$1.3 per share, a record high.

Niching’s revenue for the first quarter was NT$295 million, a decrease of 0.34% QoQ and an increase of 2.13% YoY. The gross profit margin was 26.51%, down 2.19 percentage points QoQ and up 2.62 percentage points YoY. Net income after tax was NT$51 million, an increase of 41.67% QoQ and 90.05% YoY, with net income per share of NT$1.3.

Profitability reached a new high due to the simultaneous growth of the industry and investment income from transfer in the first quarter, Niching said.

The industry’s booming packaging and driving IC-related products reached a record high over the past ten years. The company added that BT carrier boards also reached the second-highest record over the same period.

In the first quarter, Enplas SemiconductorCorporation’s value-added investment increased 488% year-over-year and 182% quarter-over-quarter due to significant growth in profits.

Japanese company Enplas, which mainly sells high-end sockets, benefited from the high demand in the HPC market and saw its revenue grow more than double.

Niching’s packaging materials will benefit from an increase in the start-up rate of the packaging plants’ wire bonding machines and the demand for memory/logic IC carrier boards and high computing.

With orders in hand for the third quarter and the continuation of price increases in all product lines, revenue is expected to grow steadily in the second quarter.

In addition, Niching is also actively laying out its silver paste products, whose sales increased 112% QoQ and 93% YoY.

The sintered silver segment also focuses on the RF and high power component markets. Although samples are still under review, the company is optimistic about future revenue contributions.
